Jill McKayInstructor/Office Staff![]() Jill's dance career commenced at Dance Spectrum almost thirty years ago. At the age of eighteen, she moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she concentrated in Theatre Studies. At AMDA, she received training in Musical Theatre, Acting, Voice and Speech Production, Voice Lessons, and Music Theory. Since graduating from AMDA, Jill has performed on the national tour of Anything Goes (serving as the company's Dance Captain), as well as on some regional tours, including The Music Man, Christmas Dreams, and Have a Nice Day. Jill has also performed with casts in a resort in the Poconos and, most recently, on the Holland American Cruise Line. While spending four years performing on the ship, she met her husband. She and her husband have settled in Buffalo and just had a little girl, Lola Rose, this past December. Jill is thrilled to be back where she started dance and wants to inspire young dancers to go out and make their dreams reality. Jill's goal as a teacher is to inspire her students to find their unique voices inside their spirits and to express their individuality through the beauty of dance. She aspires to create an environment where her students feel comfortable and confident to go beyond their own boundries and to reach for more then they thought was possible, leaving class with a feeling of acomplishment in their own personal talents. Jill's passion in life as well as teaching is to be true to herself, embrace her inner light, and be the best possible version of herself that she can be. She says, "We all deserve to shine our light to the world, and I want my students to be the brightest version of themselves that they can be." |
